Are Soaps Losing It?

As long as soaps have been around, it seems that the more time goes on the more wacky and crazy the stories get. Whatever happened to just getting at the core of family and love relationships? Why destroy what the fans love, and why go so far out there, that the everyday lives of the characters is far from this world?

The Young v. the Veteran

As many fans are beginning to realize, the veterans of soaps are sadly becoming old news. They are being cast aside as young blood comes in to showcase a new story. It really is sad to see some of soaps leading actors/actresses being overlooked when they were the ones to build the soap into the world it knows today. In time however, if the fans shout enough, the writers may take up the fact that the vets can act...and are the reason for the success. But as for now, our screens continue to be filled with nastiness and craziness without a touch of the stories we used to tune in for.

To Watch?

Many people are moving on past the shows they once loved so dearly and remained loyal to for so long. Despite, the reasoning behind their sudden unwillingness to watch, TPTB must take into account just what is causing such a decline. Storylines just aren't what they used to be, and the shows are losing a much desired edge. Couples crash and burn just weeks after a much anticipated union. Yes, marriage is usually the death of a storyline, but in some cases to show a couple work out is what puts hope in all of us. Why tarnish every couple? And half the time the reason they break up has nothing to do with reality. It's usually some huge dramatic set up that would never happen.

There has to be a happy balance, or someday in the future, the soaps we all grew to love will be no more, and we will succumb to watching Court TV and judge shows.

Kendall Hart Blog: Hart to Heart

It seems in this wide world of the internet, it is only a matter of time before we are all inside the minds of others and understanding just what goes on behind the scenes of the world called Soaps.

ABC isn't the first to step into the shoes of blogging-- that allows anyone to view recent comments and posts from just about anybody. AMC has two blogs for two of it's actresses. Cady McClain keeps us all in tune to life as a soap star. And Alicia Minshew's character, Kendall, keeps us up to date with her latest feelings for her storyline.

This newest and greatest technology allows fellow fans to get in deep with their beloved shows and actors. It is certainly a great step and opportunity for the networks to continue to grab viewers to join in and be interactive with the characters they love most.

So jump on in...with just a click you can share in the deepest and sometimes secret life of Kendall Hart, and just what intices her to do what she does. And maybe leave a comment to make our poor girl feel better.

FlashBack

The last time Kendall endured an explosion, was when Bianca's apartment building suddenly blew up due to a gas explosion.

During this time, Bianca was pregnant, and Kendall was covering for her. Kendall pretended that she was pregnant by Michael Cambias to take the looks off of Bianca. So when the explosion happened, Bianca was in danger of being exposed. David Hayward helped Bianca get well, but when Erica came into the hospital Bianca ended up leaving and traveling the woods with a concusion. Kendall too had to keep her secret because the fact that she was covering was soon to be revealed. In the end all worked out of course, and both women had their secrets in tact. Not for ever though, because they always have a way of coming out.

Then and Now

Kendall has certainly come a long way since she first stepped foot in Pine Valley. Her relationships, her reconciliation with mommy Erica and Bianca. She is now an aunt, and she is about to have a baby of her own. Even though Kendall has a bit of her old fire inside her, she has grown soft and isn't so fiesty anymore. Don't get me wrong, it is all still boiling inside her and can explode at any moment. The old Kendall has ways of reappearing stronger than ever, and look out.

Are Kendall and Zach Over?

After a long shaky start, Kendall and Zach finally admitted their love for one another. It wasn't too long of bliss though before their relationship took a huge nose dive. Ryan found out the truth that Zach had been the reason behind the blackout that caused Greenlee to leave. Knowing that Kendall is beyond forgiving she was immediate to shun Zach for good. But when Ethan died following the Mari Gras explosion, Zach soon realized just how much he lost.

Coming UP:

When Ethan keeps haunting Zach this week, Zach is contemplating ending his own life. After losing both Kendall and Ethan in the same night, his emotions are on overload. So when Kendall gets wind of what Zach is up to, will she be there to keep him from jumping off the deep end?
