[Happy Couple Till Death Do Us Part?]
We have two happy couples to discuss today. Ryan and Annie and Zach and Kendall. Both have small children that share the same daddy, Ryan. So in a seemingly otherwise blissful family, can these couples last?
We all know it is major death to a soap opera to have happy couples, but with all the real death surrounding Pine Valley in the last months, one can only bask in the glory emitting from these happy couples. But the question remains, if we will see these couples live long and prosperous into their golden years? I for one wouldn't mind seeing someone in Pine Valley last for a few great years. We can have a glance into the everyday lives of a family trying to stick together. With Kendall and Zach they have overcome a lot and I mean a lot and still seem happy to be a family and to expand that family.
For the love of drama
But then again, we all tune in for the drama that keeps us thriving. We don't like the boring and the everyday do we soap fans? So what if I were to throw a juicy curveball into our current happy couples? What if I spice things up by proposing that Kendall rekindles a long lost love with Ryan bringing this abolished couple back into play and bring the family she once wanted with Ryan into the circle of happiness? It would leave Zach and Annie out in the cold with their children. Emma's daddy, Ryan and Spike #2's daddy, Zach. The mix up of a bunch of children all with one big family torn apart because Ryan and Kendall get back together and the only really happy child was Spike. What would happen if years from now Emma and Spike #2 come back seeking revenge on Spike, Ryan and Kendall? I can't say that I agree with ripping families apart and before you throw everything you can at the screen soap fans, take a moment to ponder the drama this storyline would create. It's new and full of drama that envolves some key people in Pine Valley. For two people, Ryan and Kendall, that once never even thought of children, they would now be so deep in the family drama they may wish they stuck to that vow long ago.
So what will it be. Regardless of your couple love would you prefer a long lasting happy couple like Ryan and Annie and Zach and Kendall? Or do you crave the drama and the dirt and hope that these couples burst into divorce court before the ink dries on their happily wedded bliss?
